Last week, we did something simple. We celebrated one another.
One by one, every person in the room was the focus and we poured love into them.
We don’t hear enough how amazing we are, how talented we are or how appreciated we are.
The ripple effect they have on others.
The reasons we`re grateful they`re part of this team.
We laughed, cried, hugged and celebrated.
And it reminded me of something I`ve known for a very long time...
People deserve to be seen for who they are not for what they produce, their numbers or titles but for who they are.
Maybe that`s why I`ve always loved leading people.
I honestly believe there is greatness inside every person, even if they don’t know it yet.
Most people just need someone to help them see it. That has always been my way of encouraging people and helping them find heir superpower.
Because when people feel valued, appreciated, and connected, something beautiful happens. Confidence grows and relationships deepen and teams become family. The transformation of someone feeling ordinary or not enough to doing incredible things.
That`s the culture we`ve worked hard to build over 40 years. We are not perfect people or leaders. We are a group of beautiful humans that lift one another up and genuinely care.
And honestly? The world could use a little more of that. More kindness, encouragement, belief in one another and a little more love.
And a whole lot more fun. ❤️

The party bus we took down to the city to go to bumble and bumble. This was in 2006or 2007. Took the bus down all excited and we all were in the elevator together. It took us up to the floor, the elevator dinged and the doors opened. The 2 or 3 ppl standing in that room stared at the loaded elevator with faces of shock 😳 not knowing why we were all there. We said we’re Dawns Pizzazz here for the class. The ppl still had no idea, the elevator dinged and the doors shut. 😂 scheduling fuck up on their part and they were so embarrassed. They paid for us to go to the W hotel for dinner and we had drinks and a great night, and of course the party bus home was the best!! I still laugh at the thought of that memory every time!

Kelsey | My funny memory is : when I was bringing out boxes to the dumpster and they were piled soo high I couldn’t see that I went to move them to the side to see how close I was and I see a huge bear sitting 4 feet in front if me and I dropped the boxes and yelled and went running in side and sat there laughing with everyone afterwards 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

One funny memory I’ll never forget was my very first day at DPZ 😂 Dawn had bought new curtains for the salon and told me, Laoreta, put the curtains up.I looked at them and said, “No, I can’t!” She asked why, and I told her, “Because they’re not ironed yet!” 🤣 So there I was, on my very first day at the salon, ironing curtains before we could even hang them up. I was taking my job very seriously from day one 😂 Looking back now, it’s one of those memories we still laugh about all these years later 💋
